How did you get into radio:
My parents were both in radio since the 1940s and I just grew up with it. When I realized that the career in table service was going nowhere, I applied for a part time job as an announcer. They kept leaving the door unlocked so I just kind of kept on going in and doing a little show each day…
How does a typical day start?
I get up at 3:45 in the morning and get on the computer to start the day. Rolling in just after 5AM I get everything put together for the show. I get with my co-workers who remind me that brushing my teeth wouldn’t be a bad thing…
Who are your favorite artists on the station?
I’m a huge Brooks and Dunn fan, but I’ve really been enjoying Big and Rich, Rascal Flatts and, for solo artists, I like Pat Green and Martina McBride
What’s on your CD player most of the time?
You can’t beat Eric Clapton, (hey Alan Jackson, you should get a couple of his records) and I’m a big Lyle Lovett fan.
Do you have any hidden talents?
Yes, and if I ever find them I’d finally know what they are.
What’s your favorite movie?
I’ve always loved “Hook” believe it or not. But I’m a big fan of old black and white movies. If one comes on the TV, I’m worthless till it’s over
What’s the dumbest thing you ever did?
Spent the whole day watching old movies on TV.
What’s your favorite dinner?
Bacon, corn on the cob and Hostess Cherry Pies.
