Cops, Kids, And Toys

Cops, Kids & Toys is a program that began in the early 1980s to help families who were unable to provide holiday gifts for their children. The first year the program helped four families. The program continues with that same goal and has been able to help more families in Tompkins County over the years. In 2005 toys were delivered to 380 families with nearly a 1,000 kids. And in 2007 toys were delivered to 753 families and 1,262 kids.

Every year since the beginning the program has grown. Several years the volunteers thought that they were going to fall short, but the Tompkins County community has always come through. Cops, Kids & Toys volunteers work throughout the year raising funds. You may have seen them collecting returnable bottles and cans at the Grass Roots Festival or helping at the Cornell Dump and Run Sale.We could never do it with out the support of the community.Monetary donations are accepted anytime at any county law enforcement agency or the County Probation Department and checks should be made out to Cops, Kids and Toys Inc. Monetary donations may also be mailed to George Sutfin, Cornell Police, G-2 Barton Hall, Ithaca, NY 14853.Toy collection boxes will be distributed through out the county starting in late October
