As Center Manager for the Tompkins Workforce New York Career Center, Diane is truly an inspiration to both staff and customers during these difficult times. Diane seeks to gather information to help customers make informed decisions about training opportunities and future employment growth. Diane works tirelessly to reassure people that their life has not ended just because their job of 20 plus years has. Diane also provides generously of her time in volunteering for several organizations including coordinating and recruiting volunteers for an international culture festival and with her church teaching religious education and marriage preparation classes.

Julia Mattick

Diane Bradac is extremely committed and dedicated to the success of residents in our county through her work at Tompkins Workforce New York. Our organization, the Village at Ithaca, has been especially fortunate to collaborate with her on educational and personal development programs for teens and young adults. It is always a pleasure to work with Diane as she wholeheartedly takes on projects in a highly organized and professional manner. She worked at the registration table during a recent Path of Success Seminar, and her radiant smile was a warm and pleasant early morning welcome to those attending the day-long event. Diane is a consummate professional and a deeply caring person, and we're grateful for all she contributes toward making our community such a fine place to live.

As a humble past winner of this award myself, I am excited to nominate Diane Bradac for the 2010 Class of Outstanding Women. I have known Diane for several years and have come to count her as a dear friend and trusted colleague. There are many reasons why she is deserving of this award.

Diane's commitment to finding people jobs has been a common theme throughout her many years of employment in Tompkins County. With today's economic troubles, you can imagine that Diane is swamped with employees facing layoffs, a massive community underemployment issue, and residents seeking additional job training or education. In her current role as Director of Tompkins Workforce New York and Manager of the Tompkins Workforce New York One Stop Career Center she has assisted thousands of employees, employers, and jobseekers in our community.

She not only has made a successful career out of assisting employees, she has volunteered her expertise to several local organizations. The Inter-Municipal Professional Development Consortium, TC Diversity Consortium, Society for Human Resource Management, American Society for Training and Development and the Cornell Outdoor Education Leadership program have all benefited from her energy, time, and talent.

When I received this award two years ago, I was truly honored by the experience. There are so many wonderful women in our community - but too many of them function behind the scenes and do not seek the spotlight for themselves. Selflessly dedicating themselves to their careers, families, and communities - they often are not given the opportunity for us to thank them for the significant impact they have had on the lives of others. Diane Bradac deserves our thanks as well as her time in the spotlight, whether she thinks she should be there or not!
